** New Health Center Serves Tribal Community **

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony on Friday celebrated the opening of new tribal health center that is expected to cut appointment wait times in half and accommodate 10,000 more patients.

Arlan Melendez, chairman of the colony, said at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Tribal Health Center opening ceremony Friday afternoon that the colony’s three tribes — the Paiute, the Shoshone and the Washoe tribes — have revitalized a neglected area near the river and turned it into a place of healing.
