The Affordable Care Act
Two major components of the Act allow States to:
- Expand Medicaid to uninsured adults earning less than 138% of the Federal Poverty Level.
- Develop health insurance exchanges through which individuals (and small businesses) can purchase health insurance at more affordable rates.
