LEADERSHIP: Community at Work

The Great Basin HealthNet Advisory Council’s main role is to advise Great Basin Primary Care Association and Great Basin HealthNet on the provision of services linking the uninsured to a network of affordable care.  The council members will assist in the development of a comprehensive strategic plan, evaluates the implementation of that plan, and contributes to the development of a long term sustainability plan.

Council Member Roles

• Voice of the constituency they represent, insight and perspectives of the health care system

• Support and serve as an advocate for Great Basin HealthNet

• Promote public awareness of the gaps in services for the uninsured

• Make recommendations for program operations, services, network development, outreach and care coordination

• Provide a sounding board for new ideas, initiatives and strategic directions

• Act as an “Agent of Reality” in matters regarding local community concerns, issues and special populations

• Share expertise and experience in fields related to the uninsured and access to care
