Objective
Funding Health Care for
Nevadans must become a priority for the State
Legislature and Congressional Representatives.
Community based organizations and consumers are
imploring elected officials, policy makers, and
legislators to put Nevada’s healthcare system as
a priority.

The
negative impact of cuts cannot be measured in lost
General Fund dollars alone. For example, a $33 million cut
in General Funds to Medicaid/Nevada Check Up
translates to a $39 million loss in federal matching
funds; $72 million dollar loss to Nevada’s healthcare
businesses; loss of 618 healthcare related jobs and over
$26 million in Nevada salaries.

Nevada’s
current budget crisis is crippling not only Health and
Human Services, but also our education system, prisons,
state employees and residents of our state. Nevada
needs a healthy work force, healthy children, healthy
teachers, prison workers, and residents to maintain a
healthy economy.

Nevada
needs an increase to both federal and state funding to
support Medicaid and Nevada Check Up eligibility,
benefits and provider reimbursement. |
