Report on Nevada's Medically Uninsured Population

Tables & Figures

There were almost 479,000 (17.5%) Nevada residents without health insurance as of July 2008, and this number reflects persons without insurance any part of the year.  If we count those with health insurance coverage only part of the year, it is closer to 22% - 23%.  These estimates reflecting the insurance situation prior to the difficulties in the financial system and the collapse of the housing market.  Please view the document: Projecting the effects of the Recession on Insurance Coverage to understand how these tables will most likely increase for 2009 - 2010.

The following tables indicate numbers and percentages of uninsured Nevadans by Age, Sex, Race, and Hispanic Origin for the years 2000 through 2006.  The tables are categorized by statewide and specific Nevada counties.
